The Crew
Tony White has been lighting since the age of 13 and has been involved with productions all over the South West. He is the Lighting Designer for several theatre companies including Shakespeare Live, Small Moving Parts, Wimbourne based Swan Theatre Company and of course Playing Up. In addition he provides lighting designs for both Bath Drama and The Rondo Theatre Company.
Not limited to theatre projects, Tony’s work in music and dance leads to some innovative designs, not least the recent Playing Up production of Of Mice and Men where the lighting played an important part in the overall success of the show.
Tony first worked with Playing Up with their production of Sleuth, followed by the acclaimed Serjeant Musgrave's Dance and Steel Magnolias. Following the successful Of Mice and Men he looks forward to being involved in many more Playing Up productions.

Tony Wood started his involvement with amateur dramatics more years ago than he cares to remember. He helped renovate an old RAF cinema as a theatre, and provided lighting and special effects for plays as diverse as The Lover, Boeing Boeing, The Anniversary, and several pantomimes. He also, but say it quietly, appeared in a leading role in a one act play and vowed never to appear on the stage again.
There then followed a long gap whilst following a career in Project Management involving many moves around this country and abroad. On moving to Bath in 1997 he became involved with several local companies providing props of all sorts, set building, and stage management. And yes, he appeared on stage again at the Minack Open air theatre in Cornwall with a run through part in Alan Ayckbourn’s Sisterly Feelings.
He builds the sets for, and is Stage Manager, for the annual village panto in Northend and has been the stage manager for Playing Up ever since Serjeant Musgrave's Dance. He has also helped design and build sets, scenery and props for all Playing Up productions since then.

Tony Wood deserves credit for building such an ingenious set. |

Caroline Foulds fell into acting at the age of 7 when her proud Scottish mother decided that a broad Lancashire accent was not befitting a lady and sent her to elocution lessons. Caroline has never looked back; competing annually in the local arts festival and performing in numerous plays and musicals including; Daisy Pull’s It Off, A Winter’s Tale, Amadeus, Whistle Down the Wind, Oliver! and Gigi. She studied Drama through the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and completed her LAMDA Gold in Acting before jetting off to University where she performed with the Edinburgh University Savoy Opera Society for three years.
Since moving to Bath in 2002 she has trodden the boards for many a theatre company including Shakespeare Live, Bath Drama and of course Playing-up. Her most recent appearances have been Bolette in Lady from the Sea, Bertram Beauregard in the Bath Drama Panto - Beauty and the Beast, Julie-Ann in Aykbourn’s Roleplay, and Annie in Serjeant Musgrave’s Dance - her first appearance with Playing-Up.
Caroline was originally cast as Annie in Serjeant Musgrave's Dance. She joined the Playing-Up crew as Assistant Stage Manager for their production of Steel Magnolias in 2005 and, to her astonishment, found she quite enjoyed it. She swiftly became a valuable member of the team - complete with her own power tools!! Caroline has worked on and off stage ever since.
